Congratulations. You have been invited for an interview.
To help you to prepare for this interview, here is a description of the procedure.
The first interview is arranged via a consultant, manager, senior employee possibly in combination with a representative of the commissioning party. Dependent on the level of the job, there will be a competence test.
The second interview is normally held at the place where, if successful, you will be employed. The majority of this interview will be devoted to discussing the employment conditions. If all of the parties are still enthusiastic after the second interview, Head Personeelsdiensten will formulate an appropriate job proposal for you, for discussion. After the employment conditions have been agreed, a contract will be drafted for you.
Selection procedure – staff and specialists
The selection procedure for supervisory or specialist jobs will possibly have additional phases. Consider for instance an interview targeted at competences, a competence test or an assessment. This extended procedure is intended to allow your (management) potential to be carefully assessed.
Head Personeelsdiensten attaches great value to integrity. Therefore, bring your passport or another valid proof of identity to the first interview. Possibly together with your original diplomas and certificates. In any follow-up, Head Personeelsdiensten will always talk to at least two people you have provided as a reference.
Certificate of Conduct
Some jobs, for instance those associated with handling confidential information, require a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag (VOG)). This certificate ‘Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag’ is referred to as the Dutch equivalent of ‘Proof of good behaviour’ and is issued by the Ministry of Justice. If a Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag is required, you will receive an application form during the job interview.
